One of the first articles I wrote for CWMs was entitled, “Renee’s Mommy is Here”. You can find it on the free articles page of The article was about my new identity as a Mom. I’m Renee and Zachary’s Mom now and don’t think I will ever get tired of hearing that title. Just wanted to let you know how time flies. Renee, my oldest child, will be 19 at the end of this month. Now Renee is in college and living away from home. She will always still be my baby. Thanks for letting me reminisce for a little bit. I’m one of those “old” Moms now who will tell you children grow up way too fast. Welcome to all you Moms who just became Moms and to the ones who have been Moms for a long time.

Article – But God

One of the phrases I truly love in the Bible is But God. I have researched that phrase and found that it is mentioned at least 43 times in the Bible. I love the But God phrase, because it shows no matter how bad things can be, God can triumph and change the situation. Often, times we can find ourselves in situations where there seems to be no way out and then God shows up in a mighty way. Nothing is impossible with God. Often, our focus can become too narrow.

Listen to a few But God verses from the Bible:

  1. Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
  2. 1 Samuel 23:14 And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.
  3. Psalms 73:26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.
  4. Acts 13:30 But God raised him from the dead.
  5. 1 Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

Is there something going on in your life right now where you see no way out and you are extremely frustrated? Sounds like a perfect time for a But God moment to occur. God’s ways are not our ways. He answers are usually ones that have never crossed our minds. If you are discouraged I encourage you to do a study of all the But God phrases in the Bible. Look for ways God intervened in the life of His people in the past and still intervenes today.

Final Thoughts

One important thing to share with your children as they are growing up is the But God stories in your own life and families’ life. Children need to hear how God works miraculously today. God is faithful and that never changes. Praise God!!

Till next time,
