Summer is here (not technically, but school is out) in the United
States. Often, that means a more relaxed schedule. Don’t forget
to have fun with your children. Often, we are so focused on the
items on our to do list at home that we forget to have fun.
I apologize in advance for the article this month. This Mom is
taking a break this month to brag on her daughter. So, you have
been warned (sort of kidding!).
Article – Renee’s Mommy is Here Part II
Many years ago I wrote Renee’s Mommy is Here, I think it
was back around 2001 (I can’t remember). That was the beginning
I had no idea what God had in store at that time for the website.
The article was about me realizing I was Renee’s Mommy and
also my son’s Mom as well. Today I’m often best known
as Renee and Zachary’s Mom.
Renee’s Mom and Dad just watched their “baby girl”
graduate from high school this past Saturday. Where has the time
gone? There are many things I adore about Renee. She is an independent
thinker, intelligent, bold, and courageous. She is a leader and
doesn’t mind leading alone. The thing I adore most about her
is that she is a Christ follower and wants to be in the center of
God’s will. A mother could not ask for a better daughter.
One of the wonderful things about Renee is her independence and
that can also be a challenge for her Mom as well. I often say to
people that some of the things that frustrate you as a parent, from
your children, are often great characteristics as an adult. An independent
child or even a strong will child is an adult who finds ways to
make things work when no one else can.
Can I share Renee’s Mom is now facing her own separation
anxiety? Much different than when Renee was a toddler. Now, my daughter
in less than two months will be going to college and living on campus.
For some reason they don’t let parents stay in dorms, who
knew? I’m excited for her and can’t wait to see how
God will use her for His glory. Honestly, it will be hard but I
wouldn’t have it any other way.
I am now an “old” CWM and time really does fly when
your children are growing up. Were there things I would do differently?
Of course, but I have taken comfort that God is continuing and will
continue to be sovereign in Renee’s life even with parents
that are less than perfect.
So, I celebrate Renee and couldn’t be more proud. She is
a gift from God and a treasure.
As a Mom we all have our cute stories. When Renee was little I
told her she was a gift from God. She then went around telling everyone
she is a present from God. Loved it then and I love it still now.
Thanks for listening to my “shameless” tribute to Renee.
Till next time,
