My prayer for you is everyday God is showing you His love and mercy. I love that we serve a God who desires a personal relationship with us. Welcome to all the new CWMs in our community. We continue to grow every month. There are at least 1300 of us CWMs who receive the newsletter and many more who visit the website. You are in great company of wonderful sisters in Christ.

I appreciate Libby taking time out of her busy schedule to share with us this month. Libby is a married 43 year old CWM who lives in the United States. She has 2 sons’ ages, 8 and 10. She is a curriculum writer and contract even coordinator.

Libby shares with us the joys specifically in being a CWM:

Being a Mom – my boys bring a fresh and new perspective on life, they bring me out of my world and into theirs, I get to revisit the awe and wonder of childhood all over again.

Working – I have the chance to be challenged outside of the home, being a curriculum writer forces me to delve into what my kids are learning and what they are being exposed to, it actually connects me more to them, I also get a chance to create which I love to do.

Christian – the work I do matters both in the home and outside, in the home I am stewarding a most precious role as a mom, I get to lay the foundation for my boys and their relationship with God; as a writer and event coordinator, I get to connect people I will never see with their Heavenly Father.

Libby struggles as a Christian Working Mom in the following areas:
The tension of roles and deadlines, what to emphasize and what to “cheat”, the feeling of I should be doing more in any of the above categories, fatigue, schedules, and my own insecurities being exacerbated as they latch onto identity/significance.

Favorite Bible Verse:
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Gal 6:9

What is God teaching you right now?
How to trust him and His provision. I want it to look differently than it does. I want the long-term security and he is meeting my daily needs. I have trusted in myself rather than Him and He is weaning me from self-reliance.

Words of Encouragement for other Christian Working Moms
God is big. God is faithful. God is trustworthy. God is good. And God loves you…and your kids more than you ever could. He has uniquely made each of us and we have a vital role to fill. He will equip us to do His work in this world.

Libby, thank you for sharing today. I recently rediscovered your favorite Bible verse and it has really lifted me up when there are days I want to give up.

Final Thoughts

One of the wonderful things about being a Mom is seeing the world through our children’s eyes, especially when they discover something for the first time. For most of us our awe of God’s creation can wane from time to time, but children teach us how to be in awe of what they see. We can learn so much from them.

Till next time,
