Christian Working Mom Interview 2008
CWM Coaching Tips

My children started back to school. I have many mixed emotions this year. Both of my children have started new schools and this is the first year my children have not been in the same school. I have to admit I was a little weepy. God had to remind me throughout the day that He is in control and watching over my precious ones. How do you handle the back to school time with your children? Come share your thoughts on the CWM Blog at

You all have heard me talk many times about my difficulties in finding modest clothes for my daughter. At one point we started buying camisoles to go underneath shirts that were immodest. Then, we had a problem with the camis, if we pulled them down to cover her bottom then they didn't cover up top well. If we pulled them up top then they didn't cover her bottom. I have finally found the Wonder Cami. The wonder cami covers great up top and goes far enough down over your pants to cover when you bend over so you don't show anything. You can find these great camis and other modest clothes at Until September 15th, CWM subscribers will get free shipping just enter the code CWM at checkout. We have bought several of these camis and they do not shrink after washing. Now, there are shirts I let my daughter buy that I would not previously; I just tell her you need to wear a cami underneath to make it acceptable. Check it out.

Liz was gracious to be interviewed this month. Liz is a 44 year old divorced CWM who lives in the United States. She has an 11 year old daughter. Liz is a registered nurse and Early Intervention Service Coordinator.

Liz shares the following joys of being a CWM: Being able to impact the lives of families with children who have developmental delays; helping foster parents who are taking care of children who have been born addicted to drugs or neglected or abused; being a positive Christian influence in a frequently negative work environment; being able to tell a secretary at the end of her rope that the God of the Universe loves her and has a purpose for her life; and providing financially for my family.

Liz struggles with: Constantly juggling child care arrangements; time crunch pressures; balancing work, home, part-time business, church and other time commitments; wanting to be home during the summer with my child (go to the beach!) but I am not able to do that; feeling “out of the loop” from friends who either home school or are stay-at-home moms.

Liz’s favorite Bible Verse is: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

God is teaching Liz: A lesson that bears repeating…The Lord God is my heavenly Husband and to look to Him to provide everything I need.

Liz shares the following words of encouragement for other Christian Working Moms: Whether you choose to work or have to work, work at it for the Lord and not for men. And…give yourself permission to take the time you need to take care of yourself emotionally, physically and spiritually. Put the oxygen mask on first so you are able to take care of others.

Thanks Liz for reminding us to take care of ourselves. I do think we are often last on our to do list.

Till next time,
