April 2010 CWM Interview
Welcome/Apology/Need Your Help
Final Thoughts

Hello fellow sisters in Christ. Hope you are doing well. I live in the Southeastern United States and it is beautiful right now. Along with the beautiful spring flowers this year we have been overloaded with pollen. My normal red car has been yellow for several weeks now. We are ready for some rain. Almost every day we have more and more CWMs join our community. My prayer is you will realize you are not alone and be encouraged. I appreciate Mary Ellen taking time to be interviewed this month. We have revamped the newsletter and interview. On the right hand side you will see links to many of the things available through www.christianworkingmom.com. Let me know if you have any questions.

I apologize for the snafu with our April CWM newsletter and that you received 2 issues in your email box. The last one was the correct one. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I need your help. I desperately need more CWMs to be interviewed. I promise it is almost painless. If you are interested send an email to Kimberly@kimberlychastain.com with interview in the subject heading and I will send you the questions to answer. Thanks in advance for your help.

Mary Ellen is a married CWM who lives in North Carolina in the United States. She has 3 children: a girl age 7, a boy age 5, and another boy age 3. Mary Ellen is an Operations Manager for a credit reporting company.

Mary Ellen shares that she is fortunate to work for a company that understands her needs as a working mother. It allows her to put her family first and take time away as needed. We’re also blessed to have my mother living with us to watch over the kids at home during the day.

Mary Ellen states that she struggles with people who have the opinion that working mothers place money and career before their families. As a working mother, I also have to take extra care not to bring the stresses of work home. Our home is our haven and we work hard to keep it that way!

Her favorite Bible verse is: 2 Corinthians 12:9 – “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Mary Ellen says that God is teaching her to dare to believe in Him for the big things – to not limit Him with my own doubts.

Mary Ellen wants to encourage other CWMs by saying “Bloom Where You Are!” God placed that on my heart to encourage me not to wait until the future when I could be a stay at home mom to be the wife and mother He has called me to be. Accept the life you have now.

Mary Ellen also has a blog where she writes about her life as a working wife, mother and home keeper. You can find it at http://workinghomekeeper.blogspot.com.

I really appreciate Mary Ellen reminding us to focus on our lives now and how God can use us at every stage of our life. We don’t need to have the mindset of I will get to that – someday!!

Final Thoughts

Our world has become very pessimistic. Take the chance today to give an encouraging word to a family member, co-worker, sales clerk, etc. We could all use a little encouragement.

Till next time,
